How our Montana registration works.
Step 1: Set up your Montana LLC
First, we begin by creating your Montana LLC this is going to be the legal foundation that allows non-residents like you to register your vehicle here in Montana. You provide your basic contact info, and we file your LLC and articles of your organization with the Montana Secretary of State. Once it gets approved, we send your documents and articles to you. Approval times are typically no greater than 48 hours.
Step 2: Collect and verify documents
Next when the LLC exists your vehicle(s) must legally belong to it. We prepare all of the title transfer paperwork including the chain of ownership as is documented to show the LLC as the rightful owner, we need your original title and purchasing documentation as well as any additional documentation which may include POA, the dealer reassignment paperwork and lean holder details (if it is financed). We may also need the odometer statement and the bill of sale, then you mail the signed copies to us, and we verify the information.
Step 3: Plate choices and county requirements
Once the ownership has been established, we then file the registration with the Montana DMV. Registration is completed remotely; no residency or inspections are required in Montana. You can begin this process by telling us the plate that you want, optionally you can choose a customized plate number, and we will reach out about county specific requirements based on your vehicle type as we maintain offices throughout Montana's counties strategically to give you the best deal based on your vehicle. Once we have that information your plates are requested, and the DMV fees are submitted

Step 4: Receive Plates & Title
After everything has been approved your plates are shipped via tract mail and the title follows after DMV completion. Annually we will notify you when to renew your plates, as well as regularly forward LLC specific mail such as toll tickets or any other time sensitive mail regarding your LLC via email.
